Winter walk in the world of design
©

A crush with ADAM, a festive mood at the Design Museum in Ghent or a stop at the Cosmos at the CID, the pleasures of winter come together in the world of design.

These three institutions offer you the chance to spend the coldest time of the year by enjoying a cocktail of design objects and artworks, by taking a last look at the collection of the Ghent design duo Muller Van Severen or by exploring the imaginary world of designers in the depths of the galaxy.

Take your pick or take them all!

Cosmo(s)polite design invites itself to the CID

Charles and Ray Eames, the illustrious Ingo Maurer, the Belgians Jean-François d'Or or Nathalie Dewez, some forty star designers have explored the most distant galaxies of design in order to offer you "Cosmos", where creations navigate between mystery and beauty, from 24 October to 27 February.
A touch of poetry, technical prowess and innovative concepts are the recipe for the designers' work. In their own way, they have questioned the architecture of the universe and the hidden governing laws of physics in order to produce objects, creations and projects. Utopia and realism merge, while integrating the fascinating beauty of the cosmos.
The CID invites you to take flight... in spirit!

Un pas de deux at Design Museum Brussel

The Design Museum Brussels and the Musée d'Ixelles embark on a rhythmic and spontaneous pas de deux with the exhibition Crush, which brings together pieces from their respective collections.

Responding to the invitation of the Design Museum Brussels, the Musée d'Ixelles (currently closed for renovation and expansion) is bringing out a selection of paintings, sculptures, photographs and other drawings from its storerooms to create happy connections and special accointances with the Plastic Design Collection.

This unexpected dialogue between design objects and works of art underlines the singularity and variety of both collections, which are revealed in a new light, without any modesty.

Design Museum Gent is celebrating!

The long awaited expansion of the museum is about to take place. Before the museum’s temporary closure, they’re showcasing their collection one last time through the eyes of the Ghent designer duo Muller Van  Severen, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year with this first major exhibition. The two designers work with the museum’s exceptional collection. Their selection of approximately 100 collection items is entering into a dialogue with their own work in a major installation. Their journey is highlighted through the eyes of 10 key figures against the backdrop of the museum’s historic rooms.
