Since its first exhibition in 2003, the nendo phenomenon has grown at a breathtaking pace. Under the leadership of Oki Sato, the Japanese collective has consistently impressed with the coherence and power of its design language—a style steeped in Japanese minimalism with a touch of humour. Whether creating furniture, objects, accessories, tableware or architectural installations, nendo tackles the most diverse projects with the same natural rigour, imbued with enormous poetic potential.
Now aged 39, Oki Sato has enthusiastically accepted the CID’s invitation and will, over a period of four months, take over all of its interior spaces: stables, hayloft, atrium, lamp room… His exhibition will be an exclusive creation, conceived in close collaboration with the venue.
