Wandering, mysterious, revolutionary, melodious, hands-in-the-air, the traveller’s hours… The vocabulary of watchmaking evokes, in a poetic and evocative way, the diversity of time display.
Drawing on the boundless ingenuity of the master watchmakers of yesteryear, Telling Time presents a selection of contemporary experiments by artists and designers, all sharing a desire to tell the time and to express the inexorable passage of time. By turns curious and surprising, funny or cruel, subtle or extravagant, the exhibition thus offers a panorama of our relationship with time and how we perceive it.
